  Ottawa National Forest Video

The Ottawa National Forest video “Welcome to the Ottawa” is a lively, informative and beautifully filmed fifteen-minute video that  develops a broad understanding of Ottawa National Forest, its importance and uniqueness.

  Ottawa Visitor Center Exhibit Redesign

 

The Ottawa Visitor Center Project has created a thought provoking, exciting and effective interpretation with innovative and varied exhibits. These exhibits encouraged active visitor involvement. The Interpretive Association earmarked $75,000 for this project. The construction phase of this project was completed in the summer of 2004.

 

  Botany Brochures

Sue Trull, Ottawa National Forest Botanist, has produced two brochures, “Common Flowering Plants of the Ottawa,” and “Ferns and Fern Allies of the Ottawa National Forest.” They are both full color brochures showing numerous plants and ferns of the forest.

  Black River Harbor Interpretive Signage

“You are Here” sign at the Great Conglomerate Falls parking lot on the Black River Harbor Scenic By-Way near Bessemer points out the location of major waterfalls, hiking trails and wheelchair access to the Black River and surrounding area.

 
  Ottawa Visitor Center Interpretive Trail

Several interpretive signs were placed along the paved, one-quarter mile, accessible interpretive trail at the visitor center in Watersmeet, MI.
